Dr. Powell has been practicing primary care medicine for more than 25 years. For the past 15 years she has enjoyed the addition of aesthetic procedures. Her interest in aesthetic medicine began with permanent hair reduction using intense pulsed light. Addressing this common problem in this way, particularly for women, has been very rewarding. Dr. Powell was made aware of the need for other appearance enhancing procedures often because of requests by patients. This led her to pursue training for herself and staff in each procedure she felt was safe and effective as well as sought after. She has been trained in all the procedures performed in the office. She has a deep commitment to each patient and strives to exceed expectations. It is extremely important to her that post treatment the patient continues to look natural, allowing the individual’s own unique beauty to be enhanced and not distorted. Less is often more when done with care, observation and precision. In addition to procedures that address cosmetic concerns, Dr. Powell is committed to preventive care and the treatment of illness, thereby caring for the whole person.
Dr. Powell is married to Dr. Lawrence Paikoff and they have three adult children. In their spare time they enjoy trips to the coast, skiing and reading.
